Medina del Campo, Spain - July 2014

This is going to be incredibly short because really there is nothing to say.  This was one of the most boring places we have been.  There is nothing to do and most of the city is just in ruins, and not cool ruins, just boarded up and falling apart and really ghetto. We checked out a bunch of streets but didn't see anything of interest and ended up not staying very long.  Luckily it was only a 4 euro train ride.

 Cool city bro...

They do have a castle though, Castillo La Mota. It is surrounded by a huge moat.  This castle was started by the Moors in the 13th century.  Eventually it became a state prison.  It is a very impressive building with crenellated walls and huge tall towers.  You can only see a few places inside, and you can’t go up the towers or see the dungeons, which is totally lame. The castle is free to go look around in though which is awesome because most castles have a fee.  There was a tour we could take to learn about the grounds but it was all in Spanish of course so we didn't bother.

Would I recommend going to Medina del Campo? No.  Not unless you are driving to just see the castle and leaving otherwise there are other castles in way better towns.
